If Geese Come in a Gaggle, What Do Breeds of Dogs Come In? - Family - Pets

You're getting ready to select a dog for yourself or your family. You're wondering what breed of dog would be best for you. Large or small? Short-coated or shaggy? Should you go to the shelter or contact a breeder? Do you already know how to care for and train a puppy, or will this be a learning experience for you? Do you have enough yard to let a big dog or a small, frisky pup expend his energy (without tearing your house apart? There are a lot of questions to answer. All puppies are cute, but it pays to select the dog who will fit easily into your household. Nothing is more traumatic than returning a puppy to the breeder or the dog pound because he's too big, wild or 'sharp' to keep. As you investigate the dog breeds available to you, keep in mind this burning question....
