NEW MOVIE REVIEW: MY DOG TULIP - Entertainment - Movies

The movie review for My Dog Tulip is based on the 1956 book by J. R. Ackerley. The movie is rated 4 out of 5 by our expert critics in Preview Night. ARTICLEA forlorn man but for his best friendDont you love them those dumb things, four legged, awesomely athletic, and unquestioningly loyal; our best friends dogs. Animation films are coming on their own and even intimidating the live action genre, it can be safely said. It is unbelievable as to how enthralling and touching these cartoons can be. An animated feature isnt simply for the sheer enjoyment of kids today. It is used to tell real human stories, for at the plight of the companionless old man in the spell binding Up (last years Oscar winner); we tried hard dealing with that lump in our throat and eventually cried. Now comes this weeks new movie review, the spectacular and vibrant My Dog Tulip. The film is based on a 1956 book by J. R. Ackerley. It is di rector/animator Paul Fierlinger and his wife Sandra Fierlinger (she did the luminous backgrounds and characters), who both do a commendable job of bringing, the words of that unknown gem of a book, to life on the celluloid. The lively visuals are accompanied by an absorbing voice over done by Christopher Plummer. The man who lives in London near Putney Common is a loner who works at the BBC. He is in his sixties, desolate on the inside if not for his beloved pet Tulip, a female German shepherd. The pet hardly makes him realize how abandoned otherwise he is, far way from socializing with other human beings. The old man and his beloved Tulip simply become companions for life. The film details how the old man dedicates his days towards the four legged wolf dog. Right from training her, feeding her, looking after her health, to even an amusing sequence which involves him searching for a mate for Tulip, we feel for them both.My Dog Tulip is a surprising blend of emotions that stir us and never to be expected from an animated feature. For its sheer boldness at being directed at adults rather than kids and dealing with serious sensibilities, the film is one of a kind.My verdict for this new movie review: 4/5Now give your verdict for this new movie review through our rating system and also leave your valuable comments for the same
