Dogs

The dogs which are the one of the most kept pets in the house and is considered to be the domesticated form of wolf. The dog is omnivorous in nature and is considered as one of the few intelligent animals which can be used to train to work with humans. The dog doesn't require any particular climatic conditions because it is quick in adapting itself to the place where he is present. The number of dog breeds available in the world ranges from 150 to 400. Each of the breeds has its own distinguished features, eating habits, health characteristics and environment adaptabilities. Some of the popular dog breeds are Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Yorkshire Terriers, German Shepherds, Beagles, Dachshunds and many more.

Dogs require same care and attention as required by humans. Dogs are known for giving unconditional love and loyalty to their owners, the owners should, in turn give them proper food, water, shelter and veterinary care. To know whether your dog is in proper condition, observe the behaviour of dog. If it is playful and alert that means your dog is happy. Also notice the fur on your dog, if it is shiny that means your dog is being provided with nutritive diet.

Dogs need a high level of proteins and adult dog should be fed twice a day in comparison to puppies which are fed often as they need food for their growth. Dog food are readily available which can be given along with milk if you want them to be vegetarians or omnivores otherwise they can be given bones or fat laded meat.

Now we'll talk about cleanliness of our dog. Bathing of dog is necessary to make it clean but frequent bathing may remove essential oil's from its skin and in turn can dry its skin leading to infections. Ideal bathing duration is once in two or three weeks which is sufficient for a dog or you can clean its paws frequently if they seem dirty. While giving them a bath, avoid contact of shampoos with their eyes and ears by using cotton or some other thing. Grooming is essential on regular basis as it keeps the fur of a dog healthy, smooth and free from tangles. Ears and nails should also be kept well maintained.

Physical examination of your dog is necessary. Check its pad for any injury or take him to a veterinarian visit after 2 months. Exercise forms an important part for your dog to remain fit and healthy. Don't keep your dog tied up for longer times otherwise he'll get bored rather make him free for most of the time and let him enjoy the freedom of your home which will lead to its happy mood. Before exercising further, make sure that your dog had all vaccines. Their exercise can be walking, running, jogging, playing with a ball and many more which keeps them fit and assists them in cleaning. Levels of exercises depend on the breed and age of your dog for example short legged dogs cannot run more.

You should also ensure about the health of those who comes in contact with it by properly vaccinating it against rabies. It is everyone's responsibility to keep the dog safe and secure. You can attach an ID with your name, address and telephone number written on it to ensure that your dog will reach safely to your home if it gets misplaced. A dog like human also requires your utmost attention and care.
