Why a dog is good for home security - Home

Ever considered having a dog as your best friend in regards to home securityIt is believed that when having burglar alarms you have to be-all and end-all in the industry of home security. Nothing could be further from the truth. You have many more options in order to keep burglars out of your home- most are easy to mount and very inexpensive to install.Where could they possibly enter your house? Those are the focus areas. Well, the doors are one point of focus. Your doors should be very strong; they need to be made from solid material other than plastic or glass, the hinges should be secured very well and don't forget the locks; they need to be tamper-resistant. Have you ever considered an extra deadbolt. This is an extra lock made out of very strong metal and these locks are used at night.Windows should be made from toughened glass, preferably double-glazed, so that they are almost impossible to break. And have you ever heard of window locks? Not many people do. These pre vent the windows from being opened and therefore increase the security issue considerably in your home security project if you install them. And then there are some windows which are easily accessed from the street, the windows in the basement. You should consider installing metal bars over here.It is also important for your garden to be secure, as far more burglars enter through the back of your house than the front. High anti-climbing fences and the use of spikes and / or anti-climb paint should do a perfect job to keep burglars out of your house. Big hedges are a good alternative for fences, in case you don't like the usage of fences.Have you ever heard of a burglar who actually enjoys entering a house where he/she knows there is a dog as well? Almost every burglar will avoid entering a house like this. Which makes this method probably one of the best home security measures thinkable. For this strategy to be more effective, put up a 'beware of the dog' sign. This works bes t with the bigger dogs as they will scare the burglars off. The German Shepherd or a bulldog will work best. Not only because of its size, but also for its reputation in the area of guard instincts. They are known to be not too nice to strangers, isn't it?More home security information?
